2007 Clemoes Prize Winners

We had a record number of entrants performing in languages drawn from the range offered by the Department and for the first time two first prizes were awarded to separate acts. The 2007 winners are James Lloyd (Peterhouse, second year) who read Beowulf in Old English, and Aidan Russell (Trinity College, third year) who read Tromdámh Guaire in Medieval Irish. A special recognition prize was awarded to Owain Jones (Magdalene College, second year) and Thomas O’Donnell (St. John’s College, second year) who performed Ymddiddan Rhwung Cymro a Saesnes in Old English and Medieval Welsh.
