Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships 2016

This notice provides information for those wishing to apply for a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the Faculty of English or the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic. Matching funding for the Scheme at Cambridge is provided by the Isaac Newton Trust, and there is a pre-selection competition which takes place in advance of the Leverhulme’s deadline of 10 March 2016.

Instruction for applicants

Applications should consist of the following documents:-

  • A CV (not exceeding two sides of A4)
  • A list of major publication s(not exceeding one side of A4)
  • Two letters of reference, one of which should be external to Cambridge
  • A statement of current research (maximum 250 words)
  • A statement of proposed research (two sides of A4)

Applicants should provide three hard copies and one electronic copy of their application to the Faculty Administrator at this address:

The deadline of receipt of applications is 5pm on Wednesday 5th January 2016

A shortlist of applications will be agreed within the Faculty and Department for onward consideration by the Newton Trust for matching funding. Applicants who are not shortlisted will be informed by 30 January. the outcome of the Newton Trust pre-selection competition will be known two or three weeks after that, to allow successful candidates to finalise their submissions in time for the Leverhulme’s deadline.
