August 2006
- A Summer Seminar for College and University Teachers, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (USA), took place under the auspices of the Department of ASNC from 3 July to 11 August 2006. The director of the Summer Seminar, on 'Holy Men and Holy Women of Anglo-Saxon England', was Professor Paul E. Szarmach (Director of the Medieval Academy of America, 2006-). Meetings of the seminar were held in the ASNC Common Room, and in the Parker Library, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
July 2006
- The Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Dublin, has awarded a grant of €30,000 to the department in order to aid the Irish language course led by Dr Máire Ní Mhaonaigh.
