Vacancy: Assistant Professorship in Celtic

The Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic wishes to appoint to an Assistant Professorship in Celtic from 1 September 2023.

We seek applicants who have research and teaching interests in any aspect of medieval Celtic languages and literatures, with a focus on Welsh. We are open to a wide range of approaches and expertise, including interdisciplinary work which combines the study of languages and literatures with historical evidence and material culture.

We welcome applicants whose interests also engage with the other geographical and cultural areas covered by the ASNC Department, as well as applicants with an academic interest in one or more of the following fields: a) Philology and linguistics; b) History of Gaelic- and Brittonic-speaking peoples; c) Art history and artefacts; d) Global or digital humanities; e) Manuscript studies.
