Dame Bertha Phillpotts Bursary in Old Norse and Icelandic Studies

The Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse & Celtic is pleased to announce the Dame Bertha Phillpotts Bursary. The award is for a student at the University of Cambridge starting an MPhil in 2020 who proposes to conduct research on Old Norse and Icelandic studies. The student will normally be undertaking the MPhil in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic.

The award will consist of the university composition fee (tuition/College fees) at the Home/EU rate plus the standard UKRI-level maintenance award, at the pro-rata rate for the period of an MPhil (9 months). The award will be made on the basis of the quality of the applicant’s academic record, the research proposal, and any other indications of outstanding academic merit. Home/EU and overseas applicants will be considered, but please note that the level of funding available is only at the Home/EU rate.

There is no separate application form to apply for this award; however, applicants must submit their application for admission via the applicant portal by 7 January 2020.
