Congratulations to Dr Katherine Olley who has been awarded the VH Galbraith Junior Research Fellowship in Medieval Studies at St Hilda’s College, Oxford. Her three-year research project, ‘Birth in Old Norse Literature and Society’, engages with anthropological analyses of birth as a moment of social microcosm and will explore how birth narratives reflect and challenge the power structures and values of Old Norse society.
