The Department is delighted to announce that Dr Ben Guy will be joining us as Assistant Professor of Celtic on 1st September 2023. A very bright light in the field of Welsh Celtic Studies, he is currently a Research Associate for the AHRC-funded collaborative project ‘An Edition of the Welsh Merlin Poetry’ (Cardiff University). Dr Guy is the author of Medieval Welsh Genealogy: An Introduction and Textual Study (Boydell, 2020) and in 2021 was awarded both the Learned Society of Wales’ Dillwyn Medal (Humanities and Creative Arts) and the Francis Jones Prize for the best book on Welsh history.
